PM-OPEN TCP/IP allows the exchange of tags and messages between WinCC and one or more computers (peers) with Windows, UNIX, etc. using the TCP/IP protocol. Another area of application for PM-OPEN TCP/IP is the coupling of several WinCC stations in order to exchange tags or messages or to collect them centrally. In addition, PM-OPEN TCP/IP is suitable for use in redundant WinCC configurations.

The integration of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) provides PM-OPEN TCP/IP with an ideal development platform for the implementation of customized IT solutions. SIMATIC WinCC and PM-OPEN TCP/IP therefore provide a central information interchange for local and company-wide IT integration, for example the integration of the automation level in MES or Office applications.
