Do I need to register the SIMARIS software tools? How can I register?

The latest generation of the SIMARIS software tools is available in the following versions with the corresponding registration routines:

SIMARIS design 6.0
Registration: There is a 20 days (usage days not calendar days!) evaluation period after which you will need to register in order to use SIMARIS design without any temporal limit.
If you have already installed SIMARIS design in the evaluation mode, you need to enter your data for registration on our homepage. The page is automatically accessed when you click “Register” on the start screen of SIMARIS design. Your data is required to generate your license file, which must be imported when starting the software.
SIMARIS design 6.0 professional
Registration of SIMARIS design 6.0 professional is absolutely necessary to enable the special functions of the “professional” version. It requires an authorization code which you can find on the "Certificate of License". This certificate is included when you order the software with a single or floating license from your consultant promoter against a nominal charge. Please enter this authorization code in the field "Authorization code" in the form on the homepage. If this field is not filled in, a license file will be generated which will, however, not enable the special functions of the "professional" version of SIMARIS design.
SIMARIS project 2.0
Registration works the same way as for SIMARIS design 6.0.
SIMARIS curves 2.1
Registration is not required.

What are the advantages of registering the SIMARIS software?

Registered users of SIMARIS will automatically be informed about the latest versions. Furthermore, a registration is needed to enable Siemens AG to provide you with ongoing support. All of your data will, of course, be treated confidentially.

Is the registration of SIMARIS free of charge?

The registration of SIMARIS design 6.0 and SIMARIS project 2.0 is free of charge.

The registration of SIMARIS design 6.0 professional can be performed after purchasing the license by entering the respective authorization code in the registration form. If you are interested in SIMARIS design 6.0 professional, please contact your local SIMARIS contact partner.

I have lost my license file. Where can I get a new one?

In case you have lost your license file for SIMARIS design 6.0 or SIMARIS project 2.0, please get in touch with your local SIMARIS contact or just feel free to register again. Any new registration will also be free of charge.

If you have lost your license file for SIMARIS design 6.0 professional, please get in touch with your local SIMARIS contact. He/she will assist you in getting a new license file.

My license file is not working!

The most probable reason for this is that you still work with the SIMARIS design release 4.0, 4.1 or 5.0. We kindly ask you to download the release 6.0 here. Another reason could be that you confounded the license files for SIMARIS design and SIMARIS project. The license files start with the following letters:

SIMARIS design	Sd_key
SIMARIS design professional	Sd_pro_key
SIMARIS project	Sp_key

How can SIMARIS design and SIMARIS project be licenced for all users in Windows 7 without every user having to import the licence file?

If you import the licence file for SIMARIS design or SIMARIS project when being logged in as administrator, a licence query will still be displayed upon start of SIMARIS design or SIMARIS project, when another user without admin rights executes the program.

The reason for this issue is the permissions concept of Windows 7. Even an administrator does not automatically have write permission in the programs directory any more. This is however strictly required for importing the licence file.

To import the licence file for all users, please proceed as follows:

Log in as administrator
Go to the program directory of SIMARIS design or SIMARIS project
Right-click SIMARISdesign.exe or SIMARISproject.exe -> Select "Run as Administrator"
When being prompted whether the program may be authorized to perform changes, confirm this question by clicking "Yes"
Import the licence file

This licenses SIMARIS design or SIMARIS project for all users and enables them to execute these programs without being granted special permissions.
