In the professional mode, various infeed sources (e.g. transformers and generators) can be operated in the same network. The two separately assembled networks are subject to the same medium-voltage specifications.

With automatic software-based selectivity evaluation, the selectivity limits are automatically indicated in addition to the selected element’s current-time characteristic curve as well as the envelope curves of the respective upstream and downstream devices. Furthermore, every switching device in the entire network diagram is displayed with a colored background in dependence of the selectivity state.

SIMARIS design 5.0 professional allows for the integration of general or directed couplings – also on the sub-distribution level – in the network diagram. For example, this facilitates representation of the active and passive systems in accordance with IEC 60364-7-710 and -718.

The circuit type "Equivalent impedance" is used as a substitute model to simulate impedances and to enable network calculations for lower-level circuits. The equivalent impedance can be used as an aid to simulate connecting lines (cables/wires – e.g. acc. to AWG; busbars for power transmission), reactor coils, isolating transformers etc. It can also be used for mapping existing connecting lines on which an impedance measurement has been performed.

As professional user, you can generate an export file which can be imported in SIMARIS project. This way, you can determine the space requirements of all distribution boards in your project and create the basis for budget determination with this second SIMARIS tool (Remark: SIMARIS project can only be employed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the moment).
