From the individual product to the complete solution
Newspapers, books, flyers, brochures, packaging, organic electronics ... no matter what you want to print - with its integrated SIMOTION, SINAMICS and SIMATIC system ranges, Siemens offers a wide portfolio of drive-related products, systems and applications for your printing press. We are pursuing a goal with trailblazing concepts: More performance from every printing press – and that means more success for you.
Offset printing is a very common, indirect printing process. The printing ink is first transferred from a usually thin, flexible aluminum plate onto a rubber cylinder, and from there onto the printing substrate.
Products such as magazines, books, newspapers, catalogs, packaging and posters are printed with the offset process.
Flexography is a high-pressure process that is suitable not only for very thin, flexible and stiff foils, but also almost all types of paper, thick paperboards, packaging materials with rough surfaces, fabrics and pressure-sensitive materials.
Besides flexographic printing presses, gravure printing presses rate amongst the most widely used machines for printing of packaging materials.
As the configuration of gravure printing presses is particularly flexible, these machines are best suitable for the production of all kinds of packaging materials.
The demands for printing presses with greater precision, higher speed and more flexible configuration, as well as for information for workflow and management systems are rising continually. Siemens tailor-made retrofit solutions cover all the requirements throughout the entire life cycle.
Siemens applications couple years of experience of automation and drive technology with our customers' expert knowledge. We use this optimal combination to create solutions tailored precisely to the printing industry market's requirements. They are used throughout the world, and arouse the enthusiasm of our customers time and again.
