Retrofit
Nowadays, the lifetime of printing presses easily exceed the 20-year mark. During this long operating time, it is not only the markets for print products which change but also operational requirements in the print shop.
Older automation systems can no longer meet the requirements of higher precision (e.g. residual reel diameter on unwinders), information for management systems for cost assignment per print job or post calculation as well as online-press- and production-status via in-house networks or Internet. Nowadays, modern automation and drive technology provides many new detailed solutions for increased printing performance and for an efficient reduction of job costs.
In many cases, a specific Retrofit, i.e. the modernization of critical machine components, allows fast and cost-efficient adaptation of the machine to the requirements of a modern printing shop.
Why Retrofit?
- Long-term, cost-optimized securing of the machine and system investment
keeping the automation at a high technical level
- Increase in productivity
through increase of availability
- Minimization of production downtimes and reduction of maintenance costs
