Siemens-Geraetewerk "The Best Factory"

The Electronics Plant in Erlangen (Geraetewerk Erlangen GWE) of the Siemens Automation and Drives Group has won 1st prize in "The Best Factory / Industrial Excellence Award 2004" and has also been chosen overall European winner.

The industrial contest was organized by the INSEAD School of Management in France and the Faculty of Production Management of Germany's WHU (Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung) School of Business Management.

The Siemens plant in Erlangen makes Sinumerik, Simotion, Simodrive and Sinamics Motion Control systems, among others.

The plant earned top scores in the categories Supply Chain Management, Continuous Improvement, Product and Process Development as well as Service Management.

The Industrial Excellence Award 2004 ceremony will be held on October 25 and 26, 2004 during a two-day management conference by INSEAD and WHU in Nuremberg.
