The modular SIMOTION Motion Control System together with the SINAMICS S120 drive system and the quick-response servo motors form an innovative roller feed solution for the optimum adaptation to the associated operational area based on the SimoRoll application software.

The independence of the SIMOTION platform from the drives to be controlled means this mechatronic solution can also be used for upgrading an existing plant (retrofit).

SIMOTION SimoRoll functionality

You can use the SimoRoll application software to build on existing operational modules and tested know-how - perfectly documented and pretested. Many process-oriented functions are available, such as travel profile modulation, roller ventilation, roller diameter correction, odometer operation, percentage length correction, comprehensive diagnostic functions, etc. For you, this means:

• Relative positioning (incremental dimension) for the feeding of the material at precise intervals.
• Input of the feed motion (travel profile modulation) using program blocks.
• Special positioning algorithms to prevent slippage while achieving positioning optimization and load measurement.
• Roller ventilation, automatic strip threading and strip end control.
