To increase the profitability of a press line, workpiece transport in modern transfer presses is fully automated, from feeder systems, through linking of the press stages, up to delivery of the finished parts. In sheet metal forming this increases flexibility in the production procedure, enabling large quantities to be produced at the highest speeds, while also allowing components to be cost-effectively manufactured in even smaller batch quantities. The feeder systems work independently, either via the cam controller of the press control units or according to the master value of the press.
