Energy for Wood

LIGNA+ 2009

Ligna logo

Under the motto

"Energy for Wood – Energy-efficient solutions for the timber industry"

we invite you to visit us at the
  LIGNA+ 2009
  International Trade Show for
  Forestry and Wood Industries

  taking place from May 18 - 22, 2009
at the Hanover (Germany) trade show premises.

Our trade show booth is located in Hall 19 / Booth No. A17

Exhibition highlights

1. Energy management
2. Motion Control solutions for woodworking applications
3. Automation systems from Industrial Automation

The natural resouce reserves run short and the prices for fossile raw materials increase rapidly. Environment-friendly and energy-saving technologies thus gain in importance.

In order to cope with this challenging situation, Siemens will concentrate on efficient energy management solutions at this year’s LIGNA – in addition to the well-proven and new automation and drive technologies. The focus lies on the energy management tool SIMATIC WinCC powerrate providing numerous functions for the acquisition, evaluation, representation and archiving of energy data as well as a comprehensive load management functionality. This includes the following benefits:

  • Consistent transparency of energy flows
  • Exact knowledge of the consumption profile
  • Increased energy efficiency
  • Optimized energy purchase contracts

This process optimization is supplemented by energy-efficient products, such as

  • SENTRON meters for the multi-channel, tariff-dependent acquisition of real, apparent and idle power
  • Regenerative SINAMICS drive modules with automatic idle power compensation
  • Highly efficient state-of-the-art 1LE1 energy saving motors
Further, we will present automation systems that significantly reduce costs and increase the efficiency. This includes, for example, the automatic initialization of PROFINET nodes or solutions for the integration of existing system parts with minimum effort. Cross-divisional topics such as Wireless Safety, Security and Open Architecture automation solutions will round off our trade show presentation.
