Through integrated web functions in the SIMOTION platforms and traces generated via the web, machine manufacturers and users can carry out commissioning, specific diagnoses and the servicing of production machines in a user-friendly way with little effort and without any additional engineering tools.

Via an integrated Ethernet or PROFINET interface, the SIMOTION platforms C, D and P offer the opportunity to communicate with the outside world without using the SCOUT engineering system. Standard IT technologies, such as HTTP, TCP/IP or HTML are used for this purpose. It does not play a role whether you are directly connected to the controller via a cable or using a secure connection (e.g. VPN tunnel) via the Internet.

Web diagnosis with standard pages
The simpler, faster and more efficient commissioning is carried out, the better it will be. A multitude of standard pages usable by the customer via a standard browser have already been developed for this purpose.

Easy creation of customer-specific pages
The creation of commissioning screen forms is especially important for series machine manufacturers. Here, customer-specific HMI applications can easily be created.

Easy diagnosis via the net
The standard web pages of SIMOTION IT DIAG offer an interactive HMI for this service. The data to be acquired can be composed as desired from a symbol browser and the parameters for the trace including trigger be assigned. A free graphic software with zoom, scaling and measuring cursor is available for the evaluation of the acquired data.

Basic pages can be called via PDA
Major information of a controller can also be displayed on a mobile device (PDA/smartphone) via the simplified browsers of Windows CE or Windows Mobile. This enables easier troubleshooting and hence faster error correction.

Java (Virtual machine)
By means of the integrated virtual machine (Java runtime environment), individual Java applications can also be run on SIMOTION controllers – also completely independent from the SCOUT engineering system. This allows the development of own programs and concepts for commissioning, servicing and preventive maintenance.
