The solution for single-axis applications

SINAMICS S120 AC drives have been specifically designed for single-axis applications but can also be used for multi-axis applications.

• As individual drive, it is snapped onto the Power Module (infeed and power supply for the motor) of a Control Unit (e.g. CU310 DP). It includes the complete closed-loop control intelligence and the connection to the fieldbus.
• To supplement multi-axis groups, a CU adapter is snapped-on to the Power Module. This means that the drive is connected to a CU320 or a SIMOTION D module via DRIVE CLiQ and can then utilize the closed-loop control intelligence for the drive.

Depending on the particular line supply voltage, SINAMICS S120 AC drives are available in the power ranges 0.12 - 0.75 kW (1AC 230V), 0.37 - 90 kW and 110 - 250 kW (3AC 400V).

Perfect for multi-axis applications

Flexibility and scalability through a modular design - SINAMICS S120 DC/AC drives distinguish themselves as a result of their modular design:

• The complete drive intelligence is in the Control Units (CU).
• Line Modules centrally feed the energy into the DC current link.
• Motor Modules supply the motors with power from the DC link.

Depending on the line supply voltage, SINAMICS S120 DC/AC drives are available in the power ranges 1.6 - 1200 kW with performance range with 380-480 V and 660-690 V (50/60Hz) supply voltages.

DRIVE-CLiQ, the standard digital interface between the essential SINAMIC S120 drive components including motors and encoders reduces the number of different parts..

Electronic type plates in the components allow all of the drive components to be automatically detected via the Drive-CLiQ cable. This means that it is no longer necessary to manually enter data when commissioning or replacing.
