Mains connection

A mains connection the "global player" needs

SIMODRIVE 611 takes the world-wide differences into consideration, which means:
  • Larger mains voltage range 3-ph. 400 V AC to 480 V AC (U.S.A.)
  • Direct operation on TN-mains supply
  • Optional transformers for matching to other mains voltages and transformers for IT and TT mains supplies
  • Together with mains filters matched to I/R modules operation on a "selective universal current sensitive FI protective circuit-breaker" (300 mA rated error current ) is possible.

Infeed/regenerative feedback modules

Thanks to these closed-loop mains interfaces the drive axes are free of supply tolerances

I/R-Modul

  • I/R modules function in the supply voltage range of 3-ph. 290 V to 510 V AC
  • Power reductions resulting from mains undervoltages can be compensated for by using an I/R module of a higher performance rating
  • SThus the feed drive response, performance and breakdown torque are not affected by influences on the mains
  • Only the real power actually required is drawn from the mains thus keeping costs to a minimum
  • In the braking operation power is economically returned to the mains
  • As a result no active heat dissipating units are required to eliminate braking energy from the switchgear cubicle
  • Result - friendly to the environment

Sinusoidal current operation considerably reduces mains harmonics

The SIMODRIVE 611 I/R modules are equipped as standard for sinusoidal current operation on the mains. This function increases the power factor including all harmonics for SIMODRIVE 611 drives on the mains to more than 0.97. This drastically reduces the costs of power-factor corrections for the machine operator.

Open-loop infeed modules

Open-loop infeed devices are available for simple drive applications in a power range of 5-28 kW.

EMC

Line influenced interferences, which originate in the converter units, are kept to permissible EMC values suitable for industry by using mains filters. Additional mains filter functions in combination with I/R modules in sinusoidal operation are:

  • Low frequency harmonics are damped under limit values of VDEW*) requirements
  • Decoupling resonant circuits (resonant circuits which are formed from frequently unknown system impedances and impedances of the drive systems)
  • No interference of the ripple control frequency ranges
  • Low leakage current concept. Use of universal current sensitive residual-current devices with residual rated currents >=300 mA.
