Next to combustion engines other energy sources and storing devices like batteries, ultra capacitors and fuel cells can be utilized. Based on the optimum combination of these and an intelligent energy management, significant reductions in fuel consumption and emissions can be obtained. Different gear box and axles solutions offer flexible alternatives for the mechanical integration of the drive system. Since the electric drive doesn’t require any shift gear, there are no shifting gears which results in an significant comfort increase.
