Seven levels at a glance -
WinCC visualizes VW painting facility at Wolfsburg

VW in Wolfsburg operates the world’s largest automobile painting facility, where - on seven levels - up to 3000 raw car bodies a day are sprayed with customer-specified colors.  The visualization and control of the almost completely automated, multi-step processes is provided by the process visualization system WinCC in conjunction with the control system SICALIS PMC.
In an area occupying 200 000 m² -corresponding to roughly 30 football fields - the Volkswagen AG Wolfsburg is painting (and has been for 10 years) all versions of the Golf and lately of the Bora as well. The current volume is set to about 2750 units a day.
