The Schwäbische Härtereitechnik Ulm GmbH & Co. SHU
operates the worlds
largest pusher-type hardening plant in Ulm. The fully
automated plant, built by the worlds leading manufacturer
of heat treatment furnaces and plants, Ipsen
International in Kleve, is also one of the most modern
and flexible of its kind.
As a main operating unit for the plant with a footprint of
70 x 30 m, Ipsen has chosen a
Simatic Panel PC 670 with a 15" touch screen.
To simplify the setup of the conveyor technology and
troubleshooting a Mobile Panel 170 was added to the
plants in an almost instant retrofit . |

It can be connected to or unplugged from one of the seven connection boxes
during operation and immediately shows an overview of the respective plant
section after booting up the Windows CE operating system.
