Rockwool continues Production Integration by employing WinCC

The Danish rock wool manufacturer Rockwool International A/S is
undertaking another important step towards the production standardization of
its 23 worldwide plants. At the production plant in Caparroso, Spain,
the decision for WinCC as the standard process visualization system was put
into practice for the very first time. More than 50 PC-based operator stations
monitor and visualize the complex production process controlled by 28 SIMATIC
S7-400 PLCs.

Next to functionality and reliability, the openness of the SCADA
system was another important point for the specialists of Rockwool
Engineering, since automation systems by other manufacturers are still
used in some of the plants acquired from competitors.
