HMI goes mobile at large filter presses

Up to 18 m long are the filter presses which Netzsch
Filtrationstechnik GmbH from Selb , the worlds
market- and technology leader sells all over the world.
The more than 100 filter chambers are automatically
filled and depleted. Pumps supply the chambers with pulp
and a scraper removes the filter cakes from the filter
fabrics. Depending on the industry filtrates or
filter cakes are the purpose of the filtration process.

The latest plant for a customer in Spain consists of two filter presses which
obtain 140 tons of minerals a day. The scraper moves along the whole length of
the machine. Setting- up and readjusting the scraper had always been a quite
complicated job, the operator at the machine had to shout his instructions to
his colleague at the main operator panel. Now he can walk along the machine
with a Mobile Panel 170 providing full HMI functionality close to the machine.
