Test of endurance for Man and Machine-
Rock conveying at Lötschberg-Base
tunnel

|
Semi-dark, noisy, wet, dirty and dangerous that is the world of the
roughly 1000 tunnel construction workers that struggle through the hard rock
at the Lötschberg. Even today, the work they perform is backbreaking,
but at least they receive mechanical and technical support. For example by a
conveying system that transports 2000 tons of rock per hour 1.5 km to
daylight. The Marti AG of Moosseedorf, Switzerland, designed and
constructed this giant, a marvel of engineering filled with drives and control
technology. To stay ahead of things, a powerful visualization system is
needed: WinCC.
