"1500 meters per minute - speeding up a coating machine" - 
Totally Integrated Automation at BASF technology center

Together with the machine builder Pagendarm BTT GmbH , located in
Hamburg, the BASF chemicals company in Ludwigshafen developed
the fastest coating machine for watery adhesives in the world in its
Technology Center. In close cooperation with the Siemens AG the Lebbing
Engineering & Consulting GmbH in Rhede developed the network drive
including the control and visualization based on Totally Integrated Automation
which brings the machine up to the maximum possible record speed of 1500m/min.
To meet the high demands of the plant not only drive technology but also
controllers and HMI components had to be state of the art. |

Lebbing employed a Panel PC 670 with WinCC and the Add-on PM
Quality for the visualization of the whole plant and four Multi Panels MP 370
as operator interfaces close to the machine.
