Southland Tube broke ground on its new mill in the winter of 2005, vying to break into the highly competitive and lucrative large structural steel tubing market before anyone else in the region. "Good news for the famous Aischgrund carps"-
The community of Adelsdorf in Southern Germany has newly automated and uniformly visualized the operation of the sewage plant and water works including all the remote buildings. Multiple redundant automation and control technology makes the operation transparent, the system highly available and relieves the strain on the community treasuryJ and operating side.

"Safety for tunnel trio"-
Antalya and Alanya, the two popular holiday resorts on the Turkish Riviera are connected by a four-lane coast road. In Westerly direction towards Antalya the road has three tunnels which were opened for traffic in 2006. These tunnels with a length of 300 meters, 1,540 meters and 400 meters were equipped with an efficient, highly available control system to ensure trouble-free and safe operation and to be able to respond quickly in the case of an accident or fire.
 

"Opportunity-Tank truck for sale"-
The Peterstaler Mineralquellen GmbH operates filling plants for mineral water and non alcoholic beverages at its headquarters in Bad Peterstal and in Bad Rippoldsau. For more flexible utilization of the plants, both sites which are 14 km apart were joined by pipelines in a project which is unique in the industry. At the same time, the entire transport system was automated to the state-of-the-art to integrate the production on the control and operating side.

"A dead heat"-
It's hard to find out which process is the faster, turning barley into malt or a ProTool project into a WinCC flexible project.
Zimmermann Malz a malthouse in the south of Germany has gained good experience with both. Malting has a long tradition at Zimmermann, as the malthouse supplies around 100 breweries in Southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.

Germany's largest fully automatic parking ramp, located in Dresden, offers parking space for some 200 vehicles in very tight quarters. Siemens industrial automation and drive technology ensures fast, accident-free, user-convenient operation. Operation and monitoring of internal processes is based on the Simatic WinCC flexible visualization system, using the Sm@rt Access and Sm@rt Service options.

Thinking that seat manufacturing could be managed by producing high volumes on stock means to be on the wrong track. As a tier 1 supplier to Honda, TS Tech is closely integrated into the vehicle assembly line. The seats required must flow just-in-time into the continuing process. "Perfectly refined"-
While coffee roasting is a relatively new division within the 300-year tradition of the Dallmayer delicatessen house, it has become an important pillar of the company over the past 70 years. And this is why Dallmayr coffee is produced not only in Munich, but in Berlin as well. Alois Dallmayer Kaffee Berlin GmbH produces about 200 tons of roasted coffee daily using control technology from Siemens and WinCC.

"Running smoothly"-
The production plants of Fuchs Europe Schmierstoffe GmbH extend over an area of about 3 square kilometers in the north of Mannheim. WinCC flexible is used here in a visualization system spanning several works for the time-controlled switching of machines and lighting installations and for the central processing of alarm messages from the production plants

"Optimum from the prime coat"
The Volvo factory in Umeå is Volvo’s only production site for truck cabs in Europe. In this factory in Northern Sweden, 250 miles away from the Polar Circle, the cabins for all Volvo models are built and then transported to the assembly works in Gothenburg and Gent.
In the course of a capacity extension of the factory a new painting plant for the prime paintwork of the driver cabs had to be installed.
