Wheel assembly line continously automated

Many complex operating steps are necessary to turn rim
and dish into a steel wheel. The Georg
Maschinentechnik GmbH & Co. KG from Neitersen
has developed a fully automatic wheel assembly line for
the Südrad GmbH in Ebersbach. Südrad
produces more than 5 million steel rims per year in more
than 500 variations. The recipe for the success of this
complex overall process is the homogeneous, distributed
automation solution from Siemens.
It is based on the tailor-made equipping with a Simatic
Panel PC 670, ProTool/Pro visualizing software and a
WinAC Slot PLC.
