Ethernet Communication for Panels at a Foam Rubber Splitting Machine

Molded foam rubber parts are generally made from a foam
rubber raw block. For this field of application, the Albrecht
Bäumer GmbH & Co. KG of Freudenberg
manufactures machines and matching logistics equipment for
all processing stages up to the finished product:
Cutting-off and long-splitting machines, various vertical
and horizontal splitting machines as well as
two-dimensional and three-dimensional contour cutting
machines are all part of the product spectrum.

Complex cutting lines are assembled of multiple individual machines that
ideally can communicate with each other and the main process control
computers. This ability to communicate was just as important as the actual HMI
functionality in Bäumer's selection of an operator device: They chose an
Operator Panel of the 270-series, which was made Ethernet-capable with a
network card in its CF card slot.
