 Burning
fossil fuels in the earth’s atmosphere
produces nitrogen oxides. To protect both
humans and the natural environment, these
emissions must remain below the legal limits
at all times.
With SIGLAS® Lambda, we’ve solved this problem
for glass manufacturers by introducing targeted control
of excess air during combustion. Zircondioxide oxygen
sensors measure the proportion of oxygen in the exhaust
air. The system control uses these measurements to calculate
the current excess air and regulates the amount of air
required for optimum emission. No secondary NOx reduction
measures are required.
In addition, optimization of heat exchangers
and combustion regulation enable you to
run temperatures that are 30 to 40 K lower
in
the upper oven. You can save up to 5% in
power costs as a result.
