Dear  gre_m ,
As per my knowledge only ET200M support H-system, so in this matter(H-system) no ET200S we can take.

Dear Rajkiran, yes, you are correct. Hope now the concept of active bus is cleared to you. In ET200S, Redundant bundle is not available. In future we may see ET200 station of profinet interface with H-Station.

Hello,
Let me disagree with you for this point. Please consider the following facts:
  • S7-400H can be used with all type of I/Os signals.
  • And for S7-400H If we are talking about profibus network, then you have two buses.
  • There are Only two types or families of I/Os that can work with S7-400H using two separite buses, ET200M & ET200iSP
So, two interface modules for each rack should be availabe, and of coures the necessary type of active bus units.
And please note that ET200iSP is suitable for interensicly safe I/Os.And it can be connected to S7-400H behind IS coupler.
  • Other I/Os like ET200L (obsolete), ET200S,...etc and even third parties I/Os can also be connected behind Y-Link as in this case, each rack will has only one Profibus IM.
For Hot Swapping function:
Please consider also the following facts:
  • Hot Swapping or Insert / Remove Function interrupt is an a cyclic event and it is a property of DPV1.
  • And as that all DPV1 properties are disabled after Y-Link, then hot swapping functions will not work behind Y-Links.
  • For more detailed info, please read this valuable thread and specially H-H posts.

Hope this helps.

Actually you can take new H-CPU and ET200S FW3.2+ (has shared device feature) and connect these together.

Connection to H-CPU (6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0 only)
In the case of system redundancy, you can connect the 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0 to the
following S7-400 CPUs:
CPU Order no. As of firmware version
CPU 412-5H PN/DP 6ES7412-5HK06-0AB0 V6
CPU 414-5H PN/DP 6ES7414-5HK06-0AB0 V6
CPU 416-5H PN/DP 6ES7416-5HS06-0AB0 V6
CPU 417-5H PN/DP 6ES7417-5HT06-0AB0 V6
With these CPUs, the 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0 can participate in system redundancy.
Requirements of 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0:
? The 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0 can be configured as a system redundancy device with a
STEP 7 version as of V5.5.2 HF1.
? The connection settings (transmission medium/duplex) must be set to full duplex.

Hi, all!

My H-system with ET200S and Y-Link are working successfully. In addition, Y-link allows you to use profibus-solutions from other manufacturers in the H-system.

Talking about the future Profinet-decisions in my opinion a bit premature:
need more experience with this solution, i thing -  will  problems with diagnosis,  new station ET200SP etc...
