SIMATIC WinAC – The integration master

The core of every automation solution is a controller for automation and control tasks. SIMATIC WinAC, the Windows Automation Center from Siemens, is not only a PC-based controller but also the integration platform for all parts of the automation solution which execute on the PC. From automation to IT integration, from data acquisition to motion control. Just like other SIMATIC controllers, SIMATIC WinAC is configured and programmed with STEP 7.

WinAC enables the integration of various hardware and software components, for instance technology applications such as motion control cards or programs.

With SIMATIC WinAC, the automation, visualization, data processing and communication functions are all on one PC. The software PLC in WinAC is fully compatible with SIMATIC S7 and is programmed and configured with STEP 7 so that existing S7 programs can continue to be used without any difficulty. Process I/O modules are interfaced over PROFIBUS DP with the aid of the communication module included in the package.
