FeWaNet: Telemaintenance via the Internet
Prof. Dr. Ewald Matull
Electrotechnology/Automation Engineering
Faculty of Electrotechnology and Computer Science
Technical University of East
Friesland, Emden, Germany
The project:
The aim of the project is to test components and methods of telemaintenance via Internet in industrial
applications.
Tests are designed to establish how far a wide variety of user wishes (remote visualization, process
monitoring, interrupts, diagnostics, programming, archiving,..) can be fulfilled using the tools
available from Totally Integrated Automation via the Internet.
In student projects, STEP7 blocks are being tested at the laboratory stage with S7-GRAPH and error
diagnostics, Web@aGlance, WinCC V5, teleservice and web camera on a
functional model from the FESTO company.
After this, the solutions worked out are to be tested in an industrial paint shop with regard to their
everyday usefulness.
