Federal state and Siemens AG renew their collaboration in vocational education

Minister of Economics and Education Dr. Biel: Partnership ensures practical teacher training

"Hands-on trained teachers = Excellently trained pupils". This is the underlying principle for the cooperation that has flourished since 2004 between the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein and Siemens AG in the area of vocational teacher training in automation and drives.

Almost 400 teachers have received further and advanced training during this period in some 30 SCE seminars lasting several days, based on the very latest industrial standards. The successful cooperation has now been extended by a further 6 years. A corresponding agreement was signed in the Norderstedt vocational school on September 7, 2009 by Dr. Jörn Biel, Minister of Education, Ralf-Michael Franke, Business Unit Head of Industrial Automation Systems at Siemens, Dr. Thomas Riecke-Baulecke, Head of the Institute for Quality Development at schools in Schleswig-Holstein and Urban August, Head of the automation business of Siemens in the northern German federal states.

SCE (Siemens Automation Cooperates with Education), run by Roland Scheuerer, has been active for years in research, development and advanced training facilities in the field of automation and drives technoogy. The aim is to train pupils and students to become up-and-coming young professionals and develop them into experts for new technologies. This is intended to boost the global competitiveness and the economic expansion of the country.

Contract between the Ministry of Culture of Castile and León (Spain) and Siemens

On 24th of June 2009 an education agreement was signed by the Minister of Culture of Castile and Leon Juan José Mateos and Mr. Juan Carlos Lorenzo the Siemens Sales Director for the region of Castile and León in Valladolid.  more
