SIEMENS, CARGILL INK THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR ELECTRICAL, INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS

Siemens becomes a select supplier to Cargill's North American plants ALPHARETTA, Ga., (Feb. 24, 2003) - Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., today announced that it has entered into a select supplier agreement with Minneapolis-based Cargill, Incorporated, becoming a select provider of electrical and industrial control products and systems to Cargill's North American businesses.

Cargill is a diversified international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services.

The agreement with Siemens is for three years with renewal provisions for six additional years. Siemens has had a similar agreement in place for Cargill's European operations for more than three years.

Siemens was chosen based on its ability to supply an entire range of products and systems, all optimized for integration in a plant-wide control system. They include motor control centers, NEMA and IEC motor controls, drives, PLCs, sensors, machine safety systems, HMI and process automation systems. Cargill also weighed issues related to reliability, total cost of ownership, performance, sales, service and E-commerce capability.
