PROFINET is the Industrial Ethernet standard of PROFIBUS International and meets all requirements with regard to the use of Ethernet in automation. This sets PROFINET apart from all other Ethernet-based systems, which only consider some aspects of the industry requirements.



The customer benefits from PROFINET thanks to its integrated communication on and between the automation levels, which is distinguished by a uniform connection method, the same network management, standardized access mechanisms, and comprehensive diagnostics.

Compared to established field bus systems, PROFINET permits the connection of more stations, simple wireless connection over WLAN, and access to process data using standard office tools.

The integration of PROFIBUS networks can easily be implemented at any time via routers, such as the IE/PB Link.
