SIMATIC Factory Safety
Controller

The safety-related SIMATIC controllers are based on a standard controller whose operating system and hardware components have been expanded by a variety of different protection mechanisms. They can thus also be used as standard controllers.
Safety-related tasks can thus be implemented cost effectively with just one controller, or, as before, separately.
The safety controllers can be expanded with the safety-related signal modules of the ET 200M, ET 200S, ET 200pro (IP67) and/or the block I/O ET 200eco (IP67).
Communication between two safety controllers or between one safety controller and assigned safety I/O takes place via PROFIBUS or PROFINET using the PROFIsafe profile.
The safety SIMATIC controllers are based on different hardware and software architectures. You can choose from different designs and CPU classes:
Modular controllers
- SIMATIC ET 200S F-CPUs:
safety, intelligent interface modules for use on-site in the lower performance range
- SIMATIC S7-300F:
safety CPUs for the mid to upper performance range
- SIMATIC S7-400F:
safety CPUs for the highest performance range
Embedded Automation
- SIMATIC S7-mEC-RTX F:
safety, embedded controller in S7-300 design pre-installed with Windows XP Embedded and the SIMATIC WinAC RTX F S7 software controller
- SIMATIC IPC427C-RTX F:
safety, embedded, turnkey DIN rail PC pre-installed with Windows XP Embedded and the SIMATIC WinAC RTX F S7 software controller
- SIMATIC HMI IPC477C-RTX F:
fail-safe panel PC pre-installed with Windows XP Embedded (Compact Flash Card) and S7 Software-Controller WinAC RTX F
PC-based controllers
- SIMATIC WinAC RTX F:
safety S7 software controller for PCs with Windows XP
