Fire & Gas Systems are an important layer in the overall protection scheme of industrial facilities involved in the exploration, transportation and processing of petroleum, petrochemicals or hazardous gases

These systems must reliably detect and alarm the presence of fire and/or gas leaks, even under adverse conditions (ie. loss of primary system power). Often, these same systems will automatically take action to mitigate the consequences (i.e. suppress the fire or exhaust the gas).

Siemens as well as several of Siemens Solution Provider partners have developed solutions based on both the QUADLOG and the SIMATIC S7-400FH safety system platforms conforming to all relevant industry standards. These systems are installed and performing in such arduous environments as on oil platforms in the North Sea, on FPSOs around the world and on wellheads on the North Slope of Alaska.
