SIRIUS Modular Safety System 3RK3 Basic

The 3RK3 modular safety system is a modular, software-parameterizable safety relay. The core of each MSS is the central module. The quantity structure (the number of inputs and outputs) can be easily modified using expansion modules and can thus be freely adapted to different applications. Using a bus module, the MSS can be connected via PROFIBUS to host systems. Safety functions are parameterized quickly and easily using the MSS ES software.

It is used where more than 3 safety functions have to evaluated and where parameterizing the wiring of safety relays would be very time-consuming and expensive. Siemens thus offers an integrated portfolio covering safety solutions.

The MSS can be used in a wide range of industries worldwide for many different applications up to Category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1, Performance Level e in accordance with EN 13849-1 and up to SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508.
