HW Konfig SIMATIC S7
From SIMATIC STEP7 V5.4 onwards, you can configure Siemens AS-Interface modules
in your system in an even user-friendlier fashion. HW Config provides a slave
selection dialog box from where the modules can be transferred to the S7 project
at the click of a mouse. All slave-specific profile settings (I/O and ID codes)
are automatically carried-out. The modules are parameterized in plain text using
selection lists. This means that it is no longer necessary to search for parameter
bits in the Operating Instructions. Plant and system documentation is simplified
by an extensive descriptive text of the module. This applies both for the AS-i
master modules CP343-2P, DP/AS-i Link 20E as well as for the new DP/AS-i LINK
Advanced module. For the latter, I/O data from AS-i analog modules directly appear
in the cyclic I/O space just the same as for the digital modules.
