ASIsafe

The ASIsafe concept (AS-Interface Safety at Work) allows safety-related components to be integrated into an AS-Interface network. The effective, reliable diagnostics ensures the highest degree of availability of machines and equipment.

Master

The AS-Interface masters (CPs) permit direct integration of the AS-i signals acquired in the field into the higher-level SIMATIC controller. In this case, up to 992 inputs and outputs per CP can be processed direct in the controller when connected via an AS-i line.

Network Transitions

The network transitions (links) are a special form of the AS-Interface master. Similarly to the CPs, large volumes of binary and analog AS-i signals are collected in the field. Inputs/outputs, diagnostics and parameters, however, are transferred to a higher-level controller via PROFIBUS-DP or PROFINET.

Slaves

Slaves include the AS-Interface electronics and the possibility of connecting sensors and actuators in the field as well as in the electrical cabinet. Up to 62 slaves can be connected to a bus. The slaves then cyclically exchange their data with the master.

Power Supply Units

AS-Interface power supplies are an integral component of the AS-Interface network. They generate a regulated 30V DC with a high degree of stability and low residual ripple. They are used to supply the electronics of the AS-i network – i.e. AS-i modules and the master as well as the connected sensors.

Accessories

A comprehensive range of accessories supports the installation of an AS-Interface network as well as individual components. The use of AS-Interface is made simpler and extended – and infrastructure costs are reduced.

Diagnostics

An AS-i network can be simply configured and diagnosed thanks to the extensive software tools. This means that you always have a simple, reliable and fast overview of your AS-i network.
