Siemens’ Motion Control Information System (MCIS) for power train projects offers an integrated solution for linking information. The MCIS Shop Floor modules provide integrated networking of production facilities for mechanical production and assembly. And as integrated solutions covering all production areas, they also provide a single platform for control, recording and evaluation.
For production and assembly this means:
- Required production data and information is quickly available and up to date
- Smooth coordination of planning and execution
- Significant improvements in loading, availability of machines and overall plant effectiveness, as well as productivity
All MCIS Shop Floor modules are freely scalable, functionally coordinated with one another, and can be tailored to meet the functional requirements at hand. Moreover, they can be seamlessly integrated in any enterprise-wide MES solution based on SIMATIC IT.
- Production data management MCIS MDA
MCIS MDA is used for recording machine data and alarms/signals, for machine analysis and for determining key productivity figures. This enables the detection of potential improvements in the production sequence and supports a continuous process of improvement.
- Production data management MCIS PMT
MCIS PMT records processing results in the mechanical production and assembly and supplies information for tracing parts. Evaluating this quality and measurement data helps to improve product quality.
- Production data management MCIS PDA
In MCIS PDA, the default data such as production jobs and feedback such as unit quantities or reasons for rejection are exchanged between an ERP system (e.g. SAP R/3) and the production. By having the latest information available, intervention in the production sequence is quick and easy.
- Tool management MCIS TDI
With MCIS TDI, tool information is available across the network and smooth handling of tools is ensured. The number of tools in use is reduced, as are the costs.
- Maintenance management MCIS TPM
This module provides the machine operator with information in good time to plan maintenance measures and supports the operator in carrying them out. A continuous improvement process (CIP) in conjunction with TPM MDA helps to boost productivity.
- Service management MCIS RCS
MCIS RCS provides powerful software tools capable of significantly reducing downtimes in the event of a fault in production and assembly. Operators, machine setters, commissioning engineers and maintenance technicians are informed about plant statuses by e-mail or SMS. Service technicians can diagnose or program the respective machine or plant from a remote location if necessary.
- A&D DataManagement
A&D DataManagement offers an intuitive operator interface for data access, backup and comparison as well as version management of all configuration and system data within a practice-oriented structure. This lets you retrieve all relevant machine data at any time in all versions, and helps to minimize downtime.
