The SCALANCE X104-2 and X106-1 Industrial Ethernet switches are now available!

The SCALANCE X-100 line provides plant floor devices in the unmanaged switch class. The X104-2 and X106-1 expands the already available X108 that was released in 2004, providing more interface options and combinations.

Features

On a class of its own

The SCALANCE X104-2 and X106-1 Industrial Ethernet Switches expand the X100 range with devices offering optical interfaces. The X104-2 has 4 x RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports and 2 x glass fibre ST ports. The X106-1 has 6 x RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports and 1 x glass fibre ST port. Both switches are optimally suited for deploying star and line topologies using either electrical and/or optical media.

Easy installation

The SCALANCE X-100 series have a new Innovative and space-saving housing concept. It fits ideally into all Industrial automation solutions and can be mounted onto 35 mm DIN rail, S7-300 rail as well as direct wall mounting.

Unique strain relief concept

The SCALANCE X-100 series have new strain relief sleeves on electrical ports which when used with PROFINET compliant Industrial Ethernet connectors eg. FastConnect RJ45 Plug 180, provides improved tensile and bending force resistance (from the connected data cables) in comparison with standard RJ45 connectors.

Availability and diagnostics

SCALANCE X-100 switches have redundant voltage supply (DC) connections. Fault conditions can be signalled to the controller (e.g. PLC) via a signal contact (S). LEDs permit fast on-site diagnostics of power supply, port status and data communication.

Time and cost savings with FASTCONNECT

The FastConnect (FC) quick-installation system for Industrial Ethernet assists the configuration of industry-compatible network structures within the shortest possible time. FastConnect is very easy to use and the connector on the respective SCALANCE X-100 product ensures rugged and reliable data communication.
