Recent Reference: DP World - Melbourne & Brisbane18/02/08Siemens Crane group recently delivered the electrics for four twin-lift ship-to-shore post-panamax cranes built by ZPMC of Shanghai, PR China, for DP World (formerly P&O Ports) , one of Australia's container terminal operators. DP World is one of the largest marine terminal operators in the world, with 43 terminals and 13 new developments across 27 countries. The contract involved supply, engineering, manfacture and commissioning of the electrics from the 11 kV incoming switchgear and transformers through to AC drives and motors together with the PLC & SCADA equiipment. The cranes are the fastest and most powerful to date to be installed in any Australian port. Siemens Australia engineers were involved in the project carrying out pre-commissioning of the cranes in the manufacturers works in China in addition to the final commissioning of the cranes at DP World terminals located in Brisbane and Melbourne. Siemens Crane group is currently delivering one further crane project in Australia for Patrick in Port Botany, Sydney .
