on the occasion of the international trade press conference held on 22 September 2009 in Hamburg
Siemens at EU PVSEC 2009 (Part 2)

Vice President Photovoltaic Inverters
Siemens AG, Fuerth

- Check against delivery -

Ladies and gentlemen,
A most cordial welcome to today's press conference here in Hamburg at the PVSEC fair.

Photovoltaics for professional applications
Who is our new Sinvert PVM photovoltaic inverter family intended for? For professional operators of PV plants with a power output of 10 kilowatt and more. This product family can be installed either as a rooftop system on barns, schools or industrial buildings or simply ground-mounted on an open space. We are thus covering the complete commercial market segment. Shipping of the new inverter family will start this November.

Sinvert PVM - the highlights
The first new Sinvert PVM inverters to be available will be the 10, 13, and 17 kilowatt versions. A 20 kW addition is under way. The inverter family boasts a peak efficiency of 98.0 per cent and a low weight of only around 40 kilograms. The units have a very small footprint as you can see in this size comparison.
The peak efficiency of 98 per cent is best-in-class as well as the European efficiency of about 97.5 per cent. This high efficiency spreads over a very wide power range. Full power output is delivered up to an ambient temperature of 40 to 50 degrees Celsius. This high efficiency ensures optimum system yields on a continuing basis.
Other Sinvert PVM highlights include its compact design, robustness and long life expectancy. The compact wall-mounted unit features high power density and low weight; it requires no external fan and is suitable both for indoor and outdoor use thanks to its IP65 protection.

Sinvert PVM - flexibility in use>/b>
Since the units come in different sizes they can be combined to form any size of system, and our customers can apply the units in any isolated PV field together with any type of module, crystalline or thin film.

Sinvert PVM - full integration into the tool environment
The new inverter family has been fully integrated into the Sinvert tool environment. The Sinvert web monitor tool is used to retrieve and analyze inverter and system data. In the event of a fault, maintenance staff can be alerted by email as an option. Sinvert Select is available for the entire Sinvert inverter portfolio and enables optimal dimensioning of the PV system.

Sinvert PVM - delivery
The new inverter family will be available from November 2009 in the following countries: Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic. Other countries will follow. Our global Siemens presence and our established closely-meshed distribution and service network make for great user benefit. Our photovoltaic inverter business is also a global business. Wherever PV systems are planned we are available as professional partners for the commercial and power plant segment.

Thank you very much for your kind attention.
