| Sitrans LR260 is the new 2-wire radar continuous level transmitter from Siemens Industry Automation division. Featuring Process Intelligence echo processing and 25 gigahertz pulse technology, the new device is easy to install and configure. Sitrans LR260 is particularly suitable for level measurement of virtually any solid medium, including cement powder, fly-ash, coal, gypsum, flour, grain, aggregates and plastics. The new transmitter reliably measures up to a distance of 30 metres (98 feet) even in environments with extreme dust load and high temperatures up to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).

| Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will present its new system for efficient baggage identification using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology in the UHF band for the first time at the inter airport Europe 2007 trade show. Simatic RBS (RFID Baggage System) is specially tailored to baggage recognition in airport baggage handling. It offers more efficiency in baggage management and is easily integrated. For example, the reading rate is significantly higher than that of conventional barcode systems, reducing the amount of wrongly directed baggage and cutting baggage handling costs.

The new Simatic RF310M is used to read and write data to all RF300 tags. The main areas of application include commissioning, maintenance and service in manufacturing and logistics plants, for example in baggage handling systems at airports. The rugged handheld terminal in degree of protection IP 54 is protected against splashwater and is designed for use in harsh environments. The backlit display can also be read in poor lighting conditions.

| At this year's EMO show, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) will present the Sinumerik 840D sl - the Profinet connection for machine tool control. As a Profinet controller, the Sinumerik in the machine also controls the distributed I/Os or the Sinamics S120 system as a positioning drive.
