| | Connecting controllers to systems has just become faster | Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) has equipped its modular system cables for Simatic S7 controllers with new terminal blocks. These standardized terminal blocks with spring-loaded or screw-type terminals allow fast, failsafe I/O connections.
In addition terminals for "loop-through power supply" of the terminal blocks reduce wiring overhead. Terminal blocks are available for analog signals or for eight digital signals. Also available is a version for two bytes, that is sixteen digital inputs/outputs. All terminal blocks for digital connections are optionally available with signal LEDs, which allow early detection of system faults. Also new are terminal blocks with easily replaceable plug-in relays. These versions convert AC voltage from the automation system to the 24 V DC voltage of the Simatic signal modules.
