With high pressure to maximum quality
With high pressure to maximum quality
Production of mechanical parts for which maximum safety and/or reliability would be inconceivable these days without high pressure water jet systems. INDA has developed the new high pressure cleaning and deburring system HC flex specially for small and medium sized companies.

INDA in Neckartailfingen near Stuttgart is an important manufacturer of water jet systems. This manufacturer has developed the HC flex machine with Sinumerik 840Di specially for small and medium sized series.

In this machine the high pressure water jet is directed at the geometries of a workpiece to be machined with up to 1000 bar with numeric control. Burr and also chips are removed quickly and reliably from the machined edges by the kinetic energy of the water jet. Accumulated chips and other adhering contaminants are reliably removed from the workpiece. Another advantage of this technology is that the materials are not thermally stressed during deburring. This enables processing of temperature-sensitive light metals.

Easily expandable and flexible thanks to Posmo and Sinumerik 840Di

The HC flex machine is equipped with an X and a Z axis as standard. Optionally the HC flex machine can be equipped with various column saddles, a rotating jet pipe, an automatic nozzle changer and an automatic loading system. The advantages of the distributed Posmo drive technology are fully exploited here because the necessary optional axes can easily be retrofitted without modifications to the switch cabinet. In the distributed Posmo drive technology the PC-based NC controller Sinumerik 840Di communicates with the distributed drive modules via the clock synchronous Profibus MC.

In the switch cabinet itself only one supply unit which provides the intermediate circuit voltage is required for the energy supply to the larger distributed modules. The smaller modules can be connected directly to the 380 V three-phase AC voltage.

In the HC flex the necessary switch cabinet volume is reduced in size to such an extent that the switch cabinet can be integrated in the machine housing at low cost. By using the distributed drive technology with Sinumerik 840Di, INDA can reduce the design expenses for adapting customer requirements and offer the HC flex at a very good price-performance ratio. Another plus for the Sinumerik 840Di is the simple possibility of integrating this control in the Transline 2000 concept so that acceptance by the automotive industry is also guaranteed.
