Siemens features a comprehensive experience in industrial drive systems. Besides MICROMASTER, MASTERDRIVES and SIMODRIVE the established drive systems, Siemens offers now a new unified drives family, which provides nearly for every power rate and for every required perfomance a proper electrical drive. For the whole SINAMICS family, only two tools are to be used – SIZER for a save drive confiuration, and STARTER for easy and rapid commisioning.

SinaSave energy saving program Version 4.0, available free

SinaSave uses characteristic values for specific applications to determine the savings made by using energy-saving motors and/or frequency converters. This results in a pay-back period of just a few months for many of the components.
As well as improvements in the operating modes, the variable speed drives have been supplemented by medium-voltage drives, while the high-torque direct-drives operating mode has been newly adopted for gearless drives. Other new features include the fully automatic update function, conversion of metric to Anglo-American units, export to MS Office, and revised help functions.

The SINAMICS Control Unit CU230P-2 is specially suited for drives in pump, fan and compressor applications in which technology functions are to be integrated.

SINAMICS G110D, the new frequency inverter for distributed drive solutions

With SINAMICS G110D a distributed frequency inverter is now available for many standard applications in conveyor technology. It impresses, for example, with its flat design, the same hole drilling template as the G120D, a maintenance switch and manual/auto switch, as well as AS-Interface with bus parameter assignment.

New operator panel for frequency inverters - the Intelligent Operator Panel (IOP)

The Intelligent Operator Panel (IOP) for newcomers and drive experts enables easy commissioning of standard SINAMICS drives through intuitive operation and a large plain text display. Using an application wizard the user is interactively navigated through the commissioning of important applications such as pumps, fans, compressors and conveyor technology.

Safety Integrated in Drives Engineering

The SINAMICS G120 and G120D frequency converters provide enhanced, innovative, safety-oriented features from firmware V3.2. The following safety functions have now been integrated in the drives:

Better use of PROFIsafe confirmation signals

Simplified safety acknowledgement
