SINAMICS S110 Safety Integrated
Within the SINAMICS drive family, SINAMICS S110 is the single-axis drive for basic positioning tasks.
It comprises an extensive safety package that helps protect both personnel and machines. This safety package is extremely efficient and cost effective as the safety functions are completely integrated into the drive system. In addition, your machine can be safely and practically operated under all required operating conditions. For instance, in the setup and test modes with open protective door.

Safety Integrated functions for SINAMICS S110
The safety functions of SINAMICS S110 can communicate with the process via safety-relevant input/output signals. Alternatively, communication can be established via the fieldbus with the safety-relevant PROFIsafe profile.
SINAMICS S110 has the following drive-integrated safety functions:

The drive pulses are cancelled and therefore the energy feed to the drive is safely and electronically disconnected. |
| SBC - Safe Brake Control |

SS1 - Safe Stop 1 SS2 - Safe Stop 2 |
When a monitoring function or a sensor responds (e.g. light barrier), this function safely brings drives to a standstill (zero speed). |
| SOS - Safe Operating Stop |
Monitors the drives for standstill. The drives remain completely functional in closed-loop position control. |
| SLS - Safety Limited Speed |
Monitors configurable speed limit values, for example, when setting up without an agreement button. |
| SSM - Safe Speed Monitor |
Supplies a failsafe output signal if the drive speed lies below a configurable limit value. |
