Dear Sirs,

I am new in PLC Technology, and i'm interested in SIMATIC S7_200. I have been searching through the forum and i found  STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 Service Pack (SP6). But in order to setup this program i always need a previous version and in the end  i need  STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0. I really want to know and learn PLC Technology and i would appreciated if you could let me know where i can find the program and the accompanying manuals. My e-mail address is tco9998@yahoo.com.

The MicroWin software is not a freeware package.  If you just want to learn about PLC programming you could use the Step7Lite software which is used for the S7-300 PLC range.  This is available free from form the support pages under Entry ID 24372175.

Whilst there are limitations with the software it should be good enough for what you asked.

Thank you for your prompt reply. First of all, i would like you to tell me what i need to do in order to gain access to  STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0. Secondly, i would like to enquire whether the  STEP7-MicroWIN_V40_Evaluation, is enough for me to acquire basic knowledge of SIMATIC S7-200.

Hello tco;
Siemens does offer a trial version of Step 7 Microwin 4.0. Look here:

This is a complete installation, valid for 60 days or 100 launches. You have access to almost all functions (see the explanations on the download page).
The online help is quite good, but I would recommend you look at the S7-200 System manual (search for it in the Product Support link on top of the fouum page); it contains the S7-200 instruction list along with technical and connection data for al;l the S7-200 CPUs and modules.
Also search for the S7-200 Tips and Tricks; These are programs devised by Siemens using the
S7-200 in various applications, motor control, loops, communications...
