I just purchased 4 of these Motor Starters Part# 3RT 1065-6AB36

and they won't pull in unless I tap on the contactors on the side.  I have to do this every time I apply power to it.   My wire connections are clean, so I don't know what the problem is.  If I was having a problem with only one of the starters I would think it was on my end, but since all 4 are giving me the same problem, I am wondering if it's a design issue?  Any solutions to this problem?

Hello Crego,

DC-Power supply must be able to supply 27A for a duration of max 95ms until contactor is closed.

Please find attached a copy of technical data for contactors 3RT106.

Thanks for the comments.
I'm using a 40A  24V DC power supply. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the actual contactors not closing properly on the motor starters.  It doesn't make sense to me why it pulls in after i tap the contactor with the fat end of the screw driver.

Thank you for the data sheet.

hi Crego. if you still have problem-make shure (use Ohm Meter)that your contactor A1 and A2 contacts for magnetic coil do not broken. It is strange that all 3 contactors have the same problem-may be connection wrong? And -for answer why contactor tap keep closed after when you push it down-because current which going thrue contacts creat force  to hold it closed.

27A :lolz

I assume this is only for the extra large contactors.

HI there

Is this the the holding current rating or the closing current rating?as the VA requirement is different in the case of closing & holding.
