SINUMERIK-810D USING PCMCIA CARD FOR BACKUP

HELLO,

PLEASE TELL ME THE PROCEDURES FOR TAKING COMPLETE BACKUP OF 810D SYSTEM.
CAN I USE PCMCIA CARD?
IF SO DO I HAVE TO FORMAT THE CARD?
CAN I TAKE THE BACKUP OF DRIVE PARAMETERS,PLC ETC?

Dear Sir

It s not possible to make NC/PLC data backups to a standard PCMCIA type card. However, it is possible to make NC/PLC series startup files to the PCMCIA card which is resident in the 810D CCU. By default, there is a flash file system set up on this card. It is possible to make startup files to this in the usuall manner. BUT, to read these files on an external PC or to copy the files to archive, You will need to install Sinucom FFS and Cardware (Drivers) on the PC.

Dear Steave,

Thanks for your tech help.

We do have few machines with Sinumrik 810.Simumerik sys3.

Recently we have bought a machine with 810D System.

 I am not familiar to the new one Siemenns 810D(though I am familiar with Siemens older systems).

Could you please help me like what are all the datas to be backed up and the procedures for doing the same.(complete backup procedues)

hi, you can read DOConCD "Installation and Start up guide 810D" chapter 12 data back up.
you should read and try first and then if still have problem, post it, to get some help.
