Dear friends ,
I have to make a backup of program from S7-200 plc. kindly tell me the way to upload the pogram .
I have read a thread in which there was a discussion about the copy of program in memory cartridge.
Tell me how to do that.
If i use the PLC>Program Memory Cartridge.option in microwin ,will it work ?without putting password?

Hello,

If the PLC is protected with level 3 or 4  it will ask for Password when you select program memory cartridge.

So you can not backup the program then without password.

Regards,

Marcjan

ahsan

you have cpu function  protection level  password  required  for that if you want to make backup
see this link will show to you how you can connecting ,downloading and uploading for step 7
http://www.plcdev.com/book/export/html/597

about password
if you have  old copy of backup  you can clear your password by romve your RAM if your momery CARD  is RAM (THIS FOR MAKE BACKUP)

if you want to make  Downloading  in this case you must go cpu option and creat password

Thank you, with best wishes

Hello,
You can make a backup from your program to a memory card. But you won't be able to modify/ monitor it without password. That backup will be useful if you want to use same program on another CPU.
And also if you want to use the same CPU for any other application, you can use password CLEARPLC to reset PLC. But keep in mind it will erase your program.
Hope this helps.
