Hello Berg;
Do you mean the CP 5711 should act as a Profibus-Ethernet converter?Or did I read your post wrong?
Just in case, the CP 5711 is a USB to Profibus/MPI converter. Here is some of the technical data of the CP 5711:

4. Technical data

Transmission rates

9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s

Interfaces

  • Connection to PROFIBUS
  • Connection to PG/PC

9-pole Sub-D socket
USB V2.0
from the following Product release description:

One of our clients once used a INAT Echobridge in his plants, but the model he used had 5 DP ports, maybe a little heavy for your application. Look here for more modes:

Softing has a Profibus/Ethernet gateway you could look at:

If you find anything more interesting, please shoiw it on the forum, I'm sure it could be of interest to the members.
Hope this helps,

Hello Berg

here are a few more Ethernet to PPI/MPI/DP converter links that may interest you and/or are what you are after:

S7-Lan from Process Informatik
Net Link from Systeme Helmholz
IBH Link S7 from IBH Softec
ACCON Net Link from Deltalogic

You are spoilt for choice I think and I hope this helps.

P.S: There is of course nothing wrong with Siemens new CP5711, note that you will need Step7 V5.4 SP5 for it though.

Cheers

fritz

Dear Daniel and Fritz,

Thank you for the help and the links were very helpful for me! blink
There are a lot of Ethernet to Profibus/MPI/PPI converters from other companies, why Siemens does not have it too ?!
I am a little unhappy with CP5711, because it needs external 24Vdc power !! cry CP5512 doesn´t need external power.

  So, thanks again !

best regards.
