Hi all,

I have ProTool v 6.0 SP 3 installed on my pc with Windows XP SP 3, but when I try open an application created on this version have an error:

"Error on converting OID 5 == OID_POB_CTDRIVER_MANAGER. Please contact the manufacturer."

"Unexpected file format"

Atached images.

I already try:

  • Complete Deinstallation of ProTool/Lite, ProTool resp. ProTool/Pro under Entry-ID: 18697689
  • Installation details regarding ProTool Lite, ProTool and ProTool/Pro under Entry-ID: 18695605
But still have problems on my applications.

Anybody have any ideia to solve this problem???

Thanks for any help

Dear NewTech,

I guess you have seen this faq: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/13396711

That message comes when protool project was saved in later version of Protool. But Protool v6.0 + sp3 is latest. sad

Perhaps Servicepack 3 for Windows XP is the problem. Here is compatibility between Protool and Windows: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/8795248  There is no mentioning about Windows XP + sp3. cry

Best regards,

Wizard

Hi NewTech,
It's a very strange thing I have never seen. But try to use Windows XP+SP2 with your protool.
I didn't seen this problem as While I was using Windows XP+SP2 and protool, I moved to winCC flexable. And then I moved to Windows XP+SP3 with winCC flex. No more work with protool. Any way, just try to use Windows XP+SP3 or try to use WinCC flexable. You can migrate the protool project to WinCC flexable project easily and without instaling Protool.

Yes XP SP3 is known to give trouble with Protool.

Here is the info from MS, how to uninstall SP3

Hi New Tech,

I have had the same problem, and it was not solved by uninstaling XP SP3 or by reinstalling the PC with a brand new Windows XP SP2 ...

It was solved by reinstalling Step 7 V5.4 with it´s SP 3.1 - and nothing more.

I think that the problems occurs from the upgrade packs for Step 7 SP4 & SP5.

Try to reinstall Step 7 without the additional upgrades, and then install Protool. After that you can install the Step 7 upgrades.
