Dear Expert,

I m currently working on 16bit Simadyn Processor which contains MS31 Eproms. I got the backup of program for these processors by using RCOP.

But inside the program it shows one block which I think is a macro.

Can any one tell me how to read this macro. The library what I have, is older one shows year 1992 and then after according to my client these macro might have changed in 1997. So I worry about  that I cant complie  this code once again.

Now my task is to recomplie these code from MS31 EPROM using RCOP and generate the backup means prepare another MS31 EPROM.

Can any one tell in this case how can I create another backup MS31 EPROM by reading existing EPROM???

with best regards,
Dutta

So you successfully copied the content of the EPROM and EEPROM to files?
Where do you stuck, by recompiling the PN, MP or FP? Or do you have a unknown block in a FP-Listing?

In STRUC V3 there is no Macro possible. But in all STRUC versions you can have user libaries.
This libaries are a extension that allow customers to use own function blocks. You have to ask the owner of a libary for the required files.

You are right, if the libary does not match to the STRUC version you can not compile.
But I think, external libaries may be used while the last digit of the version of STRUC changes, e.g. it works for V3.2.x

RCOP ist the only way.
If you are lucky, there may be a additional way to make a backup:
If the chips of the MS31 are not soldered but have socklets, you may use a (E)EPROM Reader/Programmer and copy chip by chip.

Dear Miami,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I will try to find the autor of the library, but I am doubtful that he might have retired as it was very older group.

I have also cheked the MS31 EPROMs and yes its not soldired so I can remove those.
can u tell me exact procedure in details how to copy the chips from one MS31 to another?

with best regards,
Ankur

No, I never had to do it, but it should not be a problem to make a 1:1 copy of the chips with the software with is used for a "chip burner"
